Hurricane Katrina
Families displaced by Hurricane Katrina relocation impacting many…
Cheri Lovre and Crisis Management Institute are responding to the Hurricane Katrina aftermath in several ways. We have recently entirely revised our web site, www.cmionline.org, so we invite you to visit the site, which will also give you the opportunity to sign up for "alerts and updates" as further pdf files, guidelines, video conference dates and topics and other information become available.
On the home page, at the top of the page, there is a box relating specifically to Hurricane Katrina guidelines. This will give you quick access to pdf files.
There is also a place on our "contact" page where, if you enter your name and email and check the box that says, "YES! sign me up for your email bulletins and newsletters" you will receive updates as more unfolds. Included over the next hours and days will be the calendar of video conferences, information on what kinds of equipment your school would need in order to tune in "live time" and be able to ask questions with interactive capacity. We will also notify you of the web address in order to tune into those that will be streamed via internet, as well as a link to downloading those presentations that will be "crunched" and archived for downloading at any time.
We welcome your emails with questions, needs, and information that will be helpful for us in creating handouts that target problems that are specific to a population that you serve, whether you're in a shelter or at a site where displaced families are being settled.
Most of all, we appreciate the thoughtful, compassionate response we're hearing from so many who wish to do anything at all to help. As ideas for how you might be involved emerge, we'll post them as well.
Please feel free to forward this message to others for whom this information might be useful. You are welcome to share the downloadable PDF's from our website as well.
All good thoughts,
Cheri and the team at Crisis Management Institute
